Our Rankings Rise – Again Thanks To You

18 Feb

Gosh you have all been very busy visiting welshfoodbites and it really is appreciated. As of 18/2 welshfoodbites was 627,015 compared to truetaste.tv at 2,070,854 and walesthetruetaste at 1,661,858   (Source Alexa taken over a 3 month period)

How good is that against two WAG funded sites?

(Source Alexa taken over a 3 month period)

Isn’t that great news?

Here at Welsh Country, the team and I really appreciate your support, your suggestions and your queries. I think most of you know that we’ll do whatever we can to help if you have specific issues or worries about the Welsh food industry, but after reading posts on welshfoodbites, you’ll know how difficult it is for us to get answers.

I’m not surprised rankings are rising
I’m a regular reader of this site and I love it
Not sure why I haven’t left a comment before – stupid really as it’s a great way to find out what others are thinking too.
what a lot of work you do for us producers – do keep it up.

yes this is great news – but you guys deserve it because of all the hard work you have put in.
There’s so much news, information and gossip on here that I love visiting it
We do though seem in agreement about Wag…………………………………………………………………
not here to help – just experts at hindering
please keep this site buzzing being a producer is quite a lonely life and I find this site a a tonic

Congratulations to Kath & the Welsh Country Team for all their hard work on their superb magazine/website and an excellent, incisive weblog.

I know that Welsh food producers really appreciate your hard work on their behalf – both in terms of all your positive PR, and for your unstinting support in your efforts to obtain information and keep them informed.

Not only that; but your determination to leave no stone unturned and make the wonderful world of Welsh food a better and more transparent place, trying to get the voice of producers, traders and festival organisers heard, deserves a medal (at the very least!).

As Food Lover says being a producer can be a lonely, uphill struggle; putting quality food on the nation’s table at an affordable price can often feel like a thankless task! However your help and good humour in the face of adversity reminds us that we are not alone; and there are many, many of us out there who are very grateful for the sterling support you give to Welsh food.

It’s great to see welshfoodbites whizzing up the rankings – WAG should be asking some serious questions as to why their funded sites are not doing similarly well. And think how many other WAG-funded, food-related websites (and – ahem – “initiatives”) there are out there, most of which are remarkably similar to one another…?? Time to trim some fat and spend our taxpayers’ money more wisely, please, WAG.

Apologies, I digress! If only they would make more of an effort to appreciate that what you are doing is acting as the Voice of the growing number of ill-informed and increasingly concerned producers/traders out there: to listen, and to work with and not against you. I am sure it would give those aforementioned producers/traders a lot more confidence and much more faith in the WAG – who, after all, are paid to work on behalf of us toiling Taxpayers.

Anyway – your support , PR and assistance to Welsh food & drink – and indeed not just on the “foodie” side but as any readers of your excellent magazine will know, of Wales in general – whether it be arts, crafts, or places – is highly valued, much needed, and wholly appreciated.

Many thanks from a grateful reader!

Rankings are well-deserved and this site puts Wag to shame
Have Wag the guts to admit how much money they have invested/wasted on food sites over last ten years? Of course they haven’t.
Wag should invest OUR money in this site and support those that are backing our food producers and the Welsh food business

your rankings can only rise with the quality of news and information there is on this site
I’ve spent some time searching welsh food sites and this in my view is the best
I’m shocked and amazed that this site isn’t funded by Wag and to read about the problems the people doing this site have with Wag just strikes me as Wag being bullies or childish.
with the number of PR people Wag pay for surley some of them can give Wag better guidance as to working with this site and their magazine.
I despair of Wag I really do

fantastic site just what we needed
congratulations for all the hard work
it’s so appreciated by us in the food business and Wag should be patting you on the back instead of giving you the run-around and making life difficult

Fab, Fab Fab site this is just what producers have been needing for years
I like to hear what others are thinking and it seems that most of us are in agreement
I hope that Wag are one this site on a daily basis because they should be reading and learning from it
