Brian Powdrill

14 Apr

Brian Powdrill, one of the founders of the Really Wild Food Festival along with his wife Julia, has sadly lost his battle with cancer.

Kath, Ian and the Welsh Country team are very upset to hear this news. The Really Wild festival has always been a firm favourite of Kath and Ian and that’s down to the hard work, vision, dedication and enthusiasm of this amazing couple.

We shall really miss Brian.   Our thoughts our with Julia and her family.

20th September 1935 – 13th April 2014.

I would just like to thank Kath & Ian for their very kind comments. Brian was particularly fond of catching up with you both at other festivals as well as ours and was always very appreciative of your support. I am so sorry that the Really Wild Festival is cancelled this year. Brian knew nothing about this thank goodness. It was not my decision but that of the Directors. I am still angry about the timing, both for me but also for the exhibitors who will have been preparing for their weekend in St Davids. It was totally unnecessary and I can only apologise to those who were looking forward to being there.

There’s no need for an apology Julia, I think people’s thoughts are very much with you and Brian. Of course we like others are terribly disappointed by the cancellation of RWFF, we loved attending and it never seemed like work! RW was one of those that we wouldn’t miss, but sure the directors were just thinking of you. Pleased Brian knew nothing about the cancellation, but he was a very special man.
I was talking to someone over the weekend and saying I bet you’d like the distraction of RW now
Anyway Julia if we can be of any help, you know where are and sure we’ll find time to catch up soon.

Thanks for letting us know Kath I found him charming, polite and passionate about RWFF. Brian and Julia had built it into a super event – something to be so proud of.
