But what happened to it?

I think it is best to say Welsh Food Bites has had a very, very long holiday! However, Welsh Food Bites is now back with a new format, but with the same focus and that is to highlight any queries, worries or concerns that Welsh food and drink producers raise with Welsh Country. Issues can be raised on email using kath@welshfoodbites.co.uk or we can have a chat when we catch up at food festivals this year.

Sometimes the easiest avenue for any food & drink queries to be answered is for me to use the Freedom Of Information Act (FOI), I just have to remember that it takes up to 20 days to get FOI questions answered, but that is often much speedier than responses from the Food Division. Plus the good news for me with FOI’s is that they can be published, without any disagreement, as all the FOI information is always posted of Wag websites so it is in the public domain. I must say though that Government websites aren’t always the easiest to navigate.

If any producers have worries, it often helps other producers when queries are published, then dear reader I can then wait for your comments when you give your input. What is vitally important for me to say is that your name/company do not have to be mentioned in any comments that you post. Welsh Country will of course will have your email, but that will not be published either. Obviously after working in the world of Welsh food and drink for such a long time I am so aware that many producers are a little wary of Wag’s Food Division and so are much more comfortable calling themselves, Micky Mouse, or Bob The Butcher, which is absolutely fine with us here at Welsh Country.
