Labour’s Fat Cat Council Salaries Higher Than G7 Leaders

How can it be allowed that these Fat Cat Council Salaries that are so large they are even higher than G7 Leaders?

Following Spokesperson’s Questions to Labour’s Cabinet Secretary for Local Government & Housing, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Local Government & Housing, Laura Anne Jones MS, has highlighted the inflated salaries of Council Chief Executives in Wales, some of whom are earning more than G7 leaders.

Commenting after her Spokesperson’s Questions, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Local Government & Housing, Laura Anne Jones MS, said:

“Under Labour’s watch, we have seen council tax bills soar while council chief executives pocket salaries that outstrip those of G7 leaders.

“The amount of money some council workers take home is in stark contrast with the average take home pay for people living in these areas.

“People will rightly question why they are paying ever increasing council tax bills to fund fat cat salaries, only to see leisure centres, libraries and vital services closing, this injustice needs to be addressed to ensure council taxpayers money is directed towards protecting essential public services and not lining the pockets of the highest paid.”

I think every person in Wales, if they are aware of this latest ‘salary robbery’, will be as furious as I am, as these Fat Cat Council bosses are lining their own pockets whilst they are constantly increasing council tax and diminishing Council services. I am not the first person to query what I get for my increased Council tax, well my rubbish collected after I have sorted it!

How can these Fat Cat Council salaries be allowed to run? Who is in charge of setting salaries in Labour’s councils? Now please don’t tell me Councils have to pay record-breaking salaries to attract the best people. Because if that were true – which I don’t think it is – that Labour run Councils would not be so shambolic and so badly run.
